If I’m the Co-Creator of My Life, Why Does It Suck?! (LOL)

Hey – we’ve all been there. When you find yourself in the gutter of life, or at what some people call rock bottom, you may ask yourself, “How the heck did I get here? How on earth did I let this happen?”

Even when challenging things happen that are out of your control (think a natural disaster, a death, or your partner having an affair) there is one thing you always have control over: your response.

In order to create the incredible life you desire, you must actively exercise your right to choose how you respond to all of life’s challenges. This means taking an active role in co-creating your life, instead of allowing life to happen TO you.

In order to do this, you need to create an action plan. Look at the situation in front of you and ask yourself these three questions:

  1. What do I want from this situation?
  2. When do I want it?
  3. How do I want it?

Once you’ve got those three questions answered, you can better figure out how to change a challenging situation into one that works for you. Even if the event goes sideways, with your active participation, you can learn from what happened and make better choices in the future.

All things considered, you ought to be extremely stressed. You should drop everything and promptly question your reality on the planet. You should track down a mirror, look at yourself without flinching, lift your hand and insult yourself.
